SEO Manager

I’m only publishing this now, as I look back on this time as such a precious memory, a young 30 year old, just about to get married, have my first child and begin on my digital journey. I thought you may like it too.

I worked at Eclipse Internet back in 2004 when was I was first coming into the digital age, I learnt from some amazing agencies that I worked with and bought their learnings back to our digital team.

Having only been in digital for 2 years prior to this job, I loved the team I was in; I took on the SEO and Social Media world with great excitement, working alongside talented PPC and Affiliate Marketing colleagues - we were the first of our kind!

I remember presenting Social Media to the main board, Line Managers and Directors 3 times, telling them how it works, how it would lift our brand and more…on one occasion I was told “This will never take off!” This memory will always make me laugh, as now I watch my children (nearly 14 and 18, the eldest only just born when I worked here!) using their phones as if they were born with them attached to their fingers.

We built the website, I optimised it for search, and we fought over who won the visitor, was it SEO, PPC, Affiliate or Direct - it was an amazing experience and so strange to see how the online world has changed since then, and being honest I don’t always think for the better!

Things were more simple then, Social Media was so honest and transparent, literally letting people see behind the walls of a business.

During the time we worked together we shared many ideas in the field of internet marketing and social networking. Over a period of a year we were able to significantly increase site traffic and sales for Eclipse through Search Engine Optimisation and social networking.
